Golf Club of Tennessee

Pride and tradition are an essential at the Golf Club of Tennessee. One way they achieve that is through trophies that speak to the club heritage crafted by the expert craftsmen at Malcolm DeMille. With their Spring Member-Guest Invitational reaching its 4th annual affair, the Golf Club of Tennessee thought it fitting to surprise it’s participants with a beautifully crafted trophy inspired by the tournaments name sake—The Bootlegger. The tournament director approached Malcolm DeMille with the idea of a trophy which looked less like your typical polished high shine trophy and more like something that reflected the history of bootleg moonshine.
With these criteria, the team at Malcolm DeMille designed a copper still with nickel plated funnel going into the jug using antiquing to give character to the sculpture. Standing at 6.5" tall x 9.5" wide the sculpture attaches to distressed oak base, and is removable from the perpetual base that holds 42 nameplates for the Champion’s name. When the finished trophy arrived at the club, it made an immediate impact; Tournament Director Corey Leahy expressed, “We just unboxed it. WOW! Totally knocked it out of the park.” Malcolm DeMille thrives on going above and beyond our customer expectations and The Bootlegger participants were thrilled to compete for such a stunning work of art that commemorates the event.
