Congratulations to Steve Stricker on his win at the Sanford International! His outstanding play made him the first two-time winner of the event, and the first to take home the newly redesigned trophy.
With a change in sponsor, Sanford International asked Malcolm DeMille to redesign the trophy while keeping the original aesthetic. It was decided to replace the marble column with a high-polished nickle plated base with textured middle and edge sections. The lower portion of the base now features an area where champion names and year could be engraved, and the tournament logo is prominently deep milled and epoxied with the tournament colors. Now standing at 27" tall, the simplicity in the redesign beautifully elevates the trophy while staying true to the original design.
