Sanford International
In 2018 Sanford International commissioned Malcolm DeMille to create a trophy utilizing some material from their sponsor Cambria. Years later Malcolm DeMille continues to proudly craft the eye-catching trophy—a 21” tall sculpture tying in the globe element of the Sanford International logo and marble from Cambria. The hand cast rhodium plated globe is raised into view from a pristine piece of etched Cambria marble base by a twisting rhodium plated element.
In 2022, a change in sponsor to Premier First Bank prompted a redesign on the original trophy. Removing the marble from the previous sponsor, Malcolm DeMille replaced the base with a high-polished nickle plated base with textured middle and edge sections. The lower portion of the base now features an area where champion names and year could be engraved, and the tournament logo is prominently deep milled and epoxied with the tournament colors. Now standing at 27" tall, the simplicity in the redesign beautifully elevates the trophy while staying true to the original design.
